Facilities for the Disabled
Natural History Museum of Denmark
The museum is in an older building with limited access for wheelchair users.
Certain areas of the museum can only be accessed if you are able to manage single steps by yourself or with the assistance of a helper.
Guide dogs may be brought along in the exhibitions. However, other dogs and pets are not allowed.
Access to the museum with a wheelchair is partly via a lift from the courtyard to the ground floor and partly via a staff elevator to the first floor. It requires assistance from an employee to use the staff elevator. Some exhibitions on the first floor cannot be accessed by a wheelchair.
Note that the inside of the staff elevator is 0,73 m x 1.5 m and has a maximum weight of 300 kg.
Disabled toilet
There is a bathroom for the disabled on both the ground floor and the first floor. However, you cannot access the bathroom on the first floor with a wheelchair.
Parking
To access the disability parking space, drive through the gate to the museum at Øster Voldgade 5-7. On your right you will find a disability parking space, which is marked with a sign.
Free entrance for disability helper
Wheelchair user's helper has free access to the museum. Please bring documentation and book a free ticket in our webshop.

Botanical Garden
Most parts of the Botanical Garden are accessible by wheelchair. In the Rock Garden and on the Observatory Hill, you will find steeper slopes where you will need a companion.
Inside the listed Palm House, the accessibility is limited at places, and we recommend that you bring a companion that can assist you at the narrow passageways and through the doors, which separate the climatic zones.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to access the Butterfly House and the lower conservatories in the Palm House complex.
Guide dogs may be brought along in the exhibitions. However, other dogs and pets are not allowed.
