N2 - The food spectrum of Limapontia capitata (Opisthobranchia, Sacoglossa) is tentatively determined. A food preference among the algal species eaten by Limapontia capilata i.e. Cladophora spp., Chaetomorpha linum, and Bryopsis plumosa could not be detected. It is suggested that the restricted food spectra of sacoglossans are due to the chemical structure of algal polysaccharides as well as to the diameter and cell size of the algal species. A positive correlation between food consumption and growth at various temperatures is established. The calorific value of mean food intake is estimated to be 0.3-0.4 cal./8 days per adult animal at room temperature.
