Primary reaseach regards ecology, evolution, systematics and ecophysiology of toxin producing diatoms, a genus of planctonic microalgae.

Ph PhD project is primarily on assessing the interaction between species of Pseudo-nitzscha (A pennate toxic diatom genus) and their primary grazers, copepods.
