Theatre in the Botanical Garden
Experience Shakespeare's comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream
3 – 24 August 2021 at 7:00 PM – 8:45 PM
The performance is in English
Hermia and Lysander are in love, but when the Duke of Athens announces that Hermia is to marry Demetrius, the lovers flee into the nearby forest. They are pursued by the love scorned Helena as well as the angry Demetrius. Unknowingly, the four youths wander into the midst of a dispute between the regents of the magical forest, the King and Queen of the fairies.
Shakespeare's enchanting comedy is full of teasing, misunderstandings, humour and wonders. Sit down with the picnic basket in the old garden and let the After Hours Theater Company take you on a journey deep into a dreamlike forest that blurs the line between fantasy and reality; between love and dreams, between people and fools.
