If you sign up for DNA & life it will include a full day visit at DNAlab, our newly established lab designed for high school students. The students work with modern molecular biology methods and techniques, and they analyze and interpret the results themselves. They also learn to identify the species by studying morphological characteristics.
You will collect eDNA
Before you visit DNAlab we urge you to collect your own eDNA sample from a fresh water site. You collect the sample by use of equipment and a protocol tested by the researchers at the Natural History Museum. The equipment and detailed instructions will be mailed to you.
