Prestigious Sapere Aude grant to Morten Rasmussen

The young GeoGenetics researcher has received a Sapere Aude – DFF Research Talent grant from the Danish Council for Independent Research. Among other things the grant will provide the best possible conditions for Morten to become part of the international elite.

The grant is a 500.000 DKK topping to Morten’s postdoc grant. His research covers the differences in genomes between population groups and the consequences they will have for the human genome as a  reference sequence.

Morten Rasmussen has been co-author on numerous publications in high profile journals. He was first author on the ground-breaking publication ‘Ancient human genome sequence of an extinct Palaeo-Eskimo’ (Nature, 11. February 2010).
